Minutes of the 697th  Meeting of the Keystone Clippers Model Aircraft Club

AMA Charter 553

Tuesday February 27, 2024

The 697th business meeting of the Keystone Clippers was held at the Canned Tomato Restaurant at 7pm and called to order by President Mike Shepherd with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. There were 9 regular members and 4 Officers present. A motion was made and seconded to accept the January meeting minutes posted on the Keystoneclippersrc.com website.

None

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer Carl Schuster gave the Treasurers report. A motion was made and seconded to accept the November report and to pay any outstanding bills.

Communications

Lebanon CPAA RC swap meet is March 9. See their ad in the February issue of Model Aviation for details.

The MARCS Club will hold their annual flee market and auction at the Delmont Event Center on Saturday April 6th starting at 8am – doors open at 7am. Auction starts at 9am. Admission is $3 for adults, spouses and children free. Only 25 tables available at $10 each. See Jim Kealey for reservations.

Butler Area Modelers Society (BAMS) will be having a swap meet on May 11 and a fun fly on June 15. See their website for more information.

LHRC float fly dates have been submitted – awaiting confirmation.

Field Report

Field and runways are in good condition. There is minor damage to the GeoTex runway at the west end which will be repaired in the Spring along with re-sealing the center seam. The Club will purchase a poly roller to roll the runway.

Old Business

Activities/events for next years flying season winners were Warbirds/Jets, STOL competition, and KCRC airshow with Acrobatics. The Membership voted for these events to coincide with the June, July, and August Club picnics.

Date for the KCRC swap is slated for September 14 with the rain date of the 21st

Grass cutting schedule will be presented at the March meeting

New Business

A motion was made and seconded for the Club to purchase an AMA Walk of Fame Brick in honor of Ray Hurley who passed away on February 11.

The Club will investigate holding the April Club meeting with an indoor fly at the Harrison City Community Church. If the Club is interested in indoor flying we will schedule the January and February 2025 meetings there also.

The next business meeting will be held at the Canned Tomato Restaurant in Norwin Towne Square on March 26th starting at 7pm.
