Minutes of the 686th Meeting of the Keystone Clippers Model Aircraft Club

Monday February 27, 2023
The 686th business meeting of the Keystone Clippers was held at the Circleville United Methodist Church at 7pm and called to order by President Mike Shepherd with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. There were 12 regular members and 3 Officers present.
A motion was made and seconded to accept the January meeting minutes posted on the Keystoneclippersrc.com website.

Treasurer’s Report
Carl Schuster gave the treasurers report. A motion was made and seconded to accept the January Treasurers report and to pay any outstanding bills.
Communications
Reminder that the Lebanon CPAA RC swap meet is March 6. See their ad in the February issue of Model Aviation for details.
The MARCS Club will hold their annual flee market and auction at the Delmont Event Center on Saturday March 25 starting at 8am – doors open at 7am. Auction starts at 9am, Admission is $3 for adults, spouses and children free. Only 25 tables available for $10.
Field Report
The field and runway are in good condition. Grass runway is flyable for larger or STOL aircraft.
RF locators are available for $40.00 each. The transmitters are 1” diameter x ½” thick with Velcro female backing and are easily transferable to any plane. Contact Secy Eric Haberman to document your purchase. They are also available at the business meetings and at the field during flying season.
Old Business
Carl Schuster contacted the AMA regarding Walk of Fame bricks for Bruce Heckel, Paul Adomaitis, and Andy Levino.
KCRC-MAC #553 Charter renewal was submitted to the AMA by the Club Secretary.
Bo Kwasny reported that the Port Vue Fire Department is interested in using the Club property to practice search and rescue operations with their DJI Matrice drones. They would prefer to begin training in late April. Bo and PVFD officers will prepare a schedule for Club approval.
New Business
The membership voted in favor of adding a 15’ x 75’ taxiway offset approximately 25’ and parallel to the pit area that will join with the existing runway apron. This activity will commence in late April.
The membership voted in favor of adding a temporary RC car track on the property for Club use on a trial basis previously covered in the January meeting minutes. We have confirmed that RC cars are sanctioned by the AMA providing the Club member has Park Pilot membership. Bo Kwasny has staked 2 potential track sites, one in the east field and the other on the south field parallel to the driveway and parking lot. The membership is invited to view and comment on the 2 locations at the March meeting.
An update to the Constitution and Bylaws Article 10 was presented by the Club Secretary. The addition of Section 3 will allow voting on immediate Club issues by electronic means (e-mail or other applications). Upon membership approval the Article will be added to the Bylaws at the April meeting.
