AMA Charter 553
Monday March 25, 2019
The 645th meeting of the Keystone Clippers was held at the Circleville United Methodist Church at 7:00 pm and called to order by President Mike Shepherd with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. There were 11 regular members and 4 Officers present.
Readings
Prospective member Doran Check gave his second reading.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer’s report was given by Jerry Thomas and approved by the membership. A motion to pay the bills was made and seconded.
Communications
The MARCS Club will hold their annual flee market and auction at the Delmont Event Center on Saturday March 30 starting at 8am. Admission is $3 for adults, tables $10, spouses and children free.
The 65th annual Toledo RC Exposition will be held at the Seagate Center April 7th through the April 9th.
Field Report
The Spring cleanup will be held on April 21st. If conditions permit we will roll the runway, cut grass if necessary, clear the perimeter of any fallen trees, repair the driveway, and find a new location for the windsock. Please make an effort to attend this work party – dues incentive program applies. Rain date will be April 27th.
Old Business
The membership requested that Eric Haberman contact Cyclone Rake for more product information, particularly if this vacuuming system can collect wet grass while mowing, and to get a firm price and delivery on the recommended system.
Mike reminded the membership that the Club will continue with 4 family picnics/fun flies; the dates are June 23, July 21, August 18, and September 15. This year the Club will only provide hotdogs, hamburgers, condiments, and bottled water. Members are responsible for beverages other than water, and please bring a covered dish or dessert as usual.
New Business
We will be contacting vendors for concentrated insect spray – the solution will be used in our 40 gallon sprayer and applied to the runway to control gnats and other insects that interfere with flight operations.
Local landscapers will be contacted to provide and estimate to fill the hillside below the KCRC entrance sign and to recommend ground cover to eliminate moving in that area. It is estimated that approximately 9 yards of fill will be required. An additional 9 yards of topsoil will be needed to recontour the left side of the driveway from the bend to approximately 100 ft beyond the end of the new pavement.
Stouffer Paving will be contacted to provide an estimate to pave the parking lot with a continuation of the driveway westward, just past the south end of the cross runway. This length of driveway will be used for electric aircraft take-off and landing.
Show and Tell
None
A motion to adjourn concluded the meeting at 7:35 pm.
Eric R Haberman, Secretary KCRC
