Minutes of the 633rd Meeting of the Keystone Clippers Model Aircraft Club
AMA Charter 553
Monday February 26, 2018
The 633rd meeting of the Keystone Clippers was held at the Circleville United Methodist Church at 7:00 pm and called to order by President Mike Shepherd with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. There were 17 regular members and 5 Officers present.
The Treasurer’s report was given by Jerry Thomas and approved by the membership. A motion to pay the bills was made and seconded.
The Club was contacted by a local resident who had been asked to help sell off RC airplanes and accessories for a woman who had recently lost her son in a tragic accident. A KCRC officer met with a family representative and brought several kits and accessories to the meeting which were set up and sold to our Club members. The proceeds from the sale were $350.00 including a $100 gift by a Club member, which was turned over to the family on Tuesday February 27 along with a few items that were not sold. The family was extremely grateful for the Clubs generosity and willingness to help.
The Central Penn Aeromodelers Association will be holding their 38th annual flea market at the Lebanon Fairgrounds on March 10th.
Eric Haberman reported that the flying field and property are in good condition.
The Club’s new website is under construction but available on the internet – it can be found at http://www.keystoneclippersrc.com. The website contains the monthly Meeting Minutes, an Events Calendar including meeting notifications, Projects pages, Photo Galleries and other pertinent Club information. The membership is encouraged to use the website on a regular basis to keep updated on Club business.
Tony Mincucci is still recuperating at the Grove on Lincoln Way.
We discussed options for repair or replacement of the broken gate at the field entrance. Paul Adomaitis suggested a cattle gate; Bo Kwasny recommended using galvanized 6’ and 8’ sections that could be modified for permanent hinges and a lock box to span the 14 ½’ distance between the existing end posts. This project will be deferred until Spring.

Curt Hughes displayed a Phoenix Models 1/4 scale Waco YMF-5. It has a 90.5” wingspan and weighs 30 lbs. He’s using an E-flite Power 360 motor turning a 23” x 10” prop, a 12S LiPo, and a Castle Creations 160 HV ESC. He added Callie Graphics,
landing lights, radio antenna, tail wire braces, and dummy exhaust. This model will attract a lot of attention at the field this year.
A motion to adjourn concluded the meeting at 7:27 pm.
