Minutes of the 632nd Meeting of the Keystone Clippers Model Aircraft Club
AMA Charter 553
Monday January 29, 2018
The 632nd meeting of the Keystone Clippers was held at the Circleville United Methodist Church at 7:00 pm and called to order by President Mike Shepherd with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. There were 10 regular members and 5 Officers present. Mike mentioned that the November Windicator was not distributed to the membership this month but will appear in the new KCRC website which will be discussed under New Business. Secretary Eric Haberman will email a pdf version of the November meeting minutes to the membership on Tuesday, January 30th.
The Treasurer’s report was given by Jerry Thomas and approved by the membership. A motion to pay the bills was made and seconded.
Prospective members Dave Woody and Chris Ross were unanimously voted in to Club membership.
MARCS swap meet will be held at the Delmont Firehall on Saturday February 3rd.
Please support their club by attending this event.
Eric Haberman reported that the flying field and property are in good condition. The gate across the driveway was broken on New Years day and replaced with a lock and chain. Use caution when unlocking the chain from the post – the chain is heavy and will require some extra effort to relock. We will attempt to get the existing gate rebuilt or replaced when weather permits.
The gutter on the north side of the pavilion will need to be repaired this Spring due to ice damage from the downspout in the waterbarrel.
The Club has a new website under construction – it can be found at http://www.keystoneclippersrc.com. The website will contain the monthly Windicator, an Events Calendar including meeting notifications, Projects pages, Photo Galleries and other pertinent Club information. The membership is encouraged to use the website on a regular basis to keep updated on Club business.
Rich Kucera, Andy Levino, and Bill Pilesi were appointed by the President to perform the yearly internal audit of the Club financials for tax purposes.
Jerry reported that Tony Mincucci is recuperating at the Grove on Lincoln Way and Sam Scozzaro is recovering at home from back surgery.
FAA registration is once again required for all model aircraft between ½ and 55 pounds. The membership made a motion to purchase the AMA/FAA stickers from the AMA website.
The KCRC 2018 Club membership cards were distributed at the meeting. Reminder – membership cards are required to be in your possession and visible when flying at the field.
